A detailed introduction to Xueqing, the newest pear variety
Xueqing pear is the newest pear variety bred by crossing Xuehua and New Century. On November 28, 2000, Yuyao City Lvhaobang Farm introduced scions from Zhejiang University. Through high-grafting techniques and careful cultivation and management, all trees came into production and bore fruit, with the highest yield reaching 15 kg from a single tree. The farm planted 80 mu.
Growth and fruiting habits: the plants grow vigorously, the tree shape is relatively open, and the growth potential is strong. The rates of shoot formation and budbreak are high, flower buds form easily, and there are many axillary flower buds. The fruit is round-spherical, with a fruit weight of 300-400 g, and the largest can reach more than 700 g. After ripening, it is golden yellow, with relatively thin skin, relatively large fruit dots, medium in number, and evenly distributed. The flesh is white, fine and crisp in texture, juicy, especially sweet in taste, and strong in aroma. The soluble solids content is 13%, and the quality is excellent. The core is small, and the edible rate is high. The flowering period is medium, and the fruit ripening period is early August.
Stress resistance and pest and disease resistance: the same as the high-yielding Huanghua pear. It can withstand short periods of rainy weather and low temperatures during the flowering period, and the fruit-setting rate is extremely high. Fruit thinning is necessary, and there is no alternate bearing in fruiting.
