Xianwang Jujube
Xianwang Jujube. Bred by the Xian County Forestry Bureau. The fruit is oblong, with an average fruit weight of 9 g and a maximum fruit weight of 12 g; the skin is dark red and glossy; the fruit surface is smooth with slight unevenness. The flesh of the fresh jujube is yellow-white, firm in texture, fairly juicy, crisp and sweet, and the fresh fruit contains about 32% soluble solids; the edible rate of the fruit is 90.4%. Dried jujubes have a sugar content of 76.5% and a drying rate of 70%-78%; the fruit has thick flesh, a small pit and good flavor, and cracking is extremely rare. This cultivar has an open tree habit, with branches drooping after fruiting, and the canopy forms a natural semicircle. The tree is vigorous, with strong branching ability, producing many new jujube shoots during the growing season, and relatively dense branches and leaves, with a fruit-bearing shoot-to-fruit ratio of 1:1.5. It fruits easily and early; grafted plants bear fruit in the same year, and root-sucker seedlings bear fruit the following year, with 4-year-old trees averaging about 10 kg per tree. The fruit ripens in mid to late September, about 10 d (days) later than ordinary Jinsi Xiaozao. It is drought-tolerant and salt-alkali-tolerant.
