Grapes are a common fruit for us, grown all over the country, and there are many varieties. Among the large number of grape varieties, there is one whose flesh is crisp and sweet and which also carries a faint rose fragrance, making it deeply loved by consumers. It is the Shine Muscat grape, known for its high sugar content and rich aroma. Below, the editor brings you its cultivation techniques. Let's take a look.

1. Orchard establishment

Choose a site close to a water source, convenient for drainage and irrigation, flat in terrain, and with ample sunlight to establish the orchard. The site requires soil rich in organic matter, with a pH value between 6 and 8, slightly acidic or slightly alkaline; too high or too low will affect the normal growth of the grapes. In addition, saline-alkali land is also unsuitable for establishing an orchard, and a site with a polluted area nearby is also unsuitable for establishing an orchard. Clean up the early grass and leftover plants in the orchard thoroughly, then, in combination with land preparation, apply 2000 clean organic fertilizer and 100 kg of phosphate fertilizer per mu, make the planting beds well, and set up the grape trellis.

2. Selection of seedlings

In all regions, Shine Muscat grapes are mainly grown from grafted seedlings, and Shine Muscat grapes have relatively high requirements for seedlings, requiring rootstocks with vigorous tree growth. Therefore, the rootstock is generally chosen from Huajia No. 8, 3309C, 3309M, and others for grafting. If these are not available, Summer Black, Beta, and others with relatively vigorous growth and good disease resistance can also be chosen for grafting, while rootstocks with weaker growth and weaker disease resistance are not suitable as grafted seedlings.

3. Planting

After cultivating the grafted seedlings, planting should begin. The planting time is recommended to be 15-20 days before grape bud break in spring, and the planting method should also take local climatic conditions into account. For example, spring temperatures differ greatly between the north and the south. When planting in the north, dig deep planting holes and plant after filling them with farmyard manure; while in the south, plant on ridges after deep plowing, dig deep drainage and irrigation ditches, and cover with relatively shallow soil after planting.

4. Water and fertilizer management

After planting, to make the plants grow quickly, when watering at planting, nitrogen fertilizer can be dissolved in water and applied by watering, which can promote rapid root growth of the plants. In addition, topdressing should be carried out multiple times each year. The first time is in spring, when the plant roots are growing, so nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers should be used for topdressing; topdressing can be applied by watering or drip irrigation, using 1-2 kg of fertilizer per mu. Do not apply concentrated fertilizer, so as to avoid burning the roots. The second fertilization is during the branch and leaf growth period, which is the peak growth season for the plants and requires sufficient nutrients to support their growth; likewise use watering or drip irrigation, applying 2-3 kg of high-nitrogen compound fertilizer per mu, once every half month, for 4-5 consecutive times. When the fruit ripens, in order to improve yield and quality, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers should be applied as topdressing, applying 2-3 kg of potassium fertilizer per mu, so that the yield is significantly increased. After harvest and before leaf fall, base fertilizer should be applied to improve flower bud quality. It is recommended to apply 2000 kg of decomposed farmyard manure, 30 kg of ternary compound fertilizer, and 50 kg of calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer per mu.
