Orchard Management After Bagging Peach Trees

Peach trees are quite popular in fruit cultivation in China, and nowadays when people grow fruit trees they always bag the fruit. The same is of course true for peaches: bagging can increase peach yield and quality and effectively control various pests and diseases. But bagging is not as simple as it sounds, and orchard management after bagging is quite important. Below, the editor brings you orchard management after bagging peach trees, so come and take a look with the editor!

1. Cultivation and Earthing Up

Before bagging, carry out one round of cultivation and earthing up on the orchard soil, turning over and disinfecting all the soil in the orchard to a depth of no less than 50 cm. When turning the soil, apply a certain amount of base fertilizer, which can be crop straw and fully decomposed farmyard manure. After turning, water promptly; the most suitable time for turning is around the Beginning of Spring each year, but in some windy and rainy areas it should not be done in spring. This prevents excessive moisture from affecting the growth of the fruit trees. The main purpose of turning the soil is to increase soil fertility and ensure the fruit trees can absorb enough nutrients.

2. Fertilization Management

As just mentioned above, base fertilizer should be applied well during cultivation, and the amount of base fertilizer depends on the soil area, usually at a rate of 4000 kg/mu. Then, according to factors such as soil fertility and the growth of the peach trees, apply additional fertilizer appropriately, control the nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium content in the fertilizer, do not apply a single nutrient alone, and also ensure the supplement of trace elements. Do a good job of additional fertilization at each key stage of peach tree growth, such as flowering and fruiting and the fruit expansion period. Also spray foliar fertilizer appropriately to promote leaf photosynthesis and increase the accumulation of photosynthetic substances in the fruit trees.

3. Reasonable Watering

Water is one of the indispensable substances for peach trees to flower and bear fruit. During stages with high water demand, such as the seedling stage, pit-hardening stage and expansion stage of peach trees, watering work should be strengthened. However, although peach trees like water, they are not tolerant of waterlogging. Once there is too much standing water in the orchard, root respiration is blocked, and various substances harmful to peach tree growth are easily produced, in severe cases causing the death of the peach trees. Therefore, in rainy and heavy rain weather, be sure to drain the standing water from the orchard in time; if drainage is not timely, it may cause all the peach trees in the orchard to be drowned.

4. Disease Control

Disease control, whether bagging is used or not, is the most important management task, and the harm from disease can be called a devastating disaster for peach trees. If we do not do a good job of orchard management before and after bagging, the disease incidence rate will be higher. Therefore, after bagging we should manage the orchard well, prevent the fruit trees from developing wounds, improve the resistance of the fruit trees, and strengthen the immune system. In winter, do a good job of clearing the orchard to reduce pathogens lurking in the orchard and lower the disease incidence rate.

The above is a brief introduction to orchard management methods after bagging peach trees. To grow high-yield and high-quality peaches, bagging work is necessary. However, bagging also requires certain skills, otherwise it may not only fail to promote growth but may also cause greater harm to peach quality. That is all for today's introduction.
