Snake Fruit Planting Methods

Snake fruit is mainly produced in Indonesia, because the climate and other conditions there are most suitable for snake fruit to grow, while the snake fruit on the Qi state market is all imported, so the price is very expensive, and it is not even necessarily available for purchase. Its peel is very similar to snake skin, but after peeling it open it is white and segmented, somewhat similar to garlic, and it has the effect of developing human brain memory, but it cannot be eaten in large amounts as it will have side effects. Today the editor brings you the snake fruit planting methods, and hopes everyone will like them.

1. Planting Conditions

The requirements of snake fruit for planting conditions are relatively strict. Snake fruit is a plant that likes light, heat and moisture, so the planting conditions must include high temperature and high humidity. Usually, it is best if the annual average temperature can reach 22 degrees and above, and the lowest temperature cannot be lower than 18 degrees, otherwise it cannot grow normally. Next, there must be at least 8 to 10 hours of light every day, and the air humidity must be maintained at around 80 percent. Then, after choosing the planting site, the land needs to be prepared. Land preparation is generally carried out by full reclamation, and planting holes are dug according to a length, width and height of 50 cm each. Finally, sowing can be carried out.

2. Scientific Planting

There are two methods of planting snake fruit, namely seed sowing and sucker shoot planting. For seed planting, it is only necessary to place the seeds in the dug planting holes, then cover them with soil, and finally water them. Sucker shoot planting, however, uses relatively thick sucker shoots of snake fruit, places them in containers for cultivation, takes them out after 60 days, separates those that have grown different rhizomes, and then they can be planted.

3. Field Management

Field management of snake fruit mainly consists of water management, heat management, nutrient management and management of the pairing of pollinator trees. Before planting, we have already chosen a area near a water source, and selected a region with abundant rainfall and sufficient heat for planting. At the same time, we need to install hygrometers and thermometers in the grove, so that humidity and temperature can be managed at the same time. Once humidity and temperature are found to be below standard, timely regulation must be carried out. Next, fertilizer needs to be applied at least about three times a year, so that the nutrients in the soil can enable snake fruit to grow normally. Also, when planting, we should pay attention to the matching ratio of male and female trees, so that the fruit yield will be higher. Finally, it is necessary to control the growth of the branches and leaves of snake fruit seedlings, which cannot grow too densely.

4. Artificial Pollination

The probability of successful natural pollination of snake fruit is not very high, so the annual yield is very low. Therefore, when snake fruit blooms, it is best to use artificial pollination to carry out pollination, so as to increase the yield of snake fruit. First, we need to collect the pollen from male flowers, then use a special pollination brush to apply the pollen onto female flowers, and finally use a layer of plastic film for protection, so that the success rate of pollination will be higher.

5. Pest and Disease Control

According to relevant growers, snake fruit trees have extremely strong resistance, so basically there will be no pests or diseases throughout the year. Only occasionally will beetle-type pests appear, mainly harming the rhizomes of snake fruit seedlings, and in severe cases causing the plants to die, so timely control should be carried out. A pesticide targeted at beetles can be used for root irrigation. At the same time, ordinary growers have a folk method, which is to irrigate with urine sprinkled by rabbits, and this control effect is also very good.
