A detailed explanation of the planting methods and key technical points for canistel
Canistel is known as one of the most unpalatable fruits in the world. I wonder if any friends who have tried it would like to share how they felt after eating it. Anyway, I find it hard to describe in a few words, but its nutritional value and benefits are beyond what people expect. It helps promote digestion, tonify the kidneys, lower blood lipids, detoxify, and has effects on beauty care and body shaping. So even though it tastes bad, it is still very popular, especially among women. Today I will briefly introduce its planting methods.

1. Planting preparation
Canistel is a typical tropical fruit, so before planting we need to make full preparations. First, choose a sunny place for planting. Second, the soil layer of the planting site is best if loose on top and firm below, so that water retention and permeability are better. Of course, if the soil is relatively rich in organic matter, that is best. Finally, you can choose a plot with a certain slope for planting, which is good for drainage and irrigation, and it should be close to a water source. After the planting site is chosen, the land needs to be prepared. Full reclamation or hole reclamation can be used; full reclamation gives better results, but also takes more time. During land preparation, sufficient base fertilizer should be applied, usually about 25 kg per plant. The last thing to note is that the planting site should be disinfected and sterilized, which can avoid many diseases and insect pests.
2. Sowing and raising seedlings
After all the preparatory work is completed, it is time to sow and raise seedlings. For raising seedlings, we first need to make a seedbed. The seedbed should be located on relatively high ground, with sufficient light and good drainage. Break the soil into granular form and rake it level, then water the seedbed thoroughly, spread the seeds evenly, and finally cover them with a layer of organic compost and cover with plastic film to keep warm. Usually seedlings emerge in about 8 to 12 days.
3. Scientific transplanting
Canistel seedlings can only be transplanted after they grow to about 30 cm. When pulling up the seedlings, note that the seedlings should be dug out together with the soil from the seedbed, so as not to damage the roots and stems of the seedlings. At the same time, planting them together with the soil makes it easier for canistel trees to survive. Finally, before planting, part of the branches and leaves of the canistel tree also need to be pruned, and then planting should be done at a spacing of 2 m between plants and 3 m between rows.
4. Field management
The field management of canistel trees needs to be divided into two stages: young tree management and mature tree management. For young trees, the main purpose is to promote the growth of branches and leaves. Fertilizer should be applied at least once every month, and the amount of fertilizer does not need to be too much. At the same time, attention should also be paid to water management, and branches and leaves should be pruned appropriately, cutting off some relatively messy branches, which can better promote the growth of side branches. Generally, canistel trees bear fruit in three years, so starting from the third year we need to fertilize reasonably according to the fertilization pattern for mature trees, mainly paying attention to management during the flowering and fruiting periods.
5. Pest and disease control
The most common pests and diseases of canistel trees are termites and scarab beetles. As for termites, we all know they cause especially great damage to fruit trees, and scarab beetles are also pests that live by gnawing on tree tissue. When these two pests appear together on canistel trees, the situation becomes even more serious, so targeted pesticides should be used promptly for control. Second, during the fruiting period, some birds often come to steal the fruit, so we should also prepare in advance. Plastic bags, balloons, or scarecrows can be hung in the forest to help prevent this.
