'Golden Square Persimmon' is a new non-astringent persimmon variety bred by crossing 'Xin'an Niuxin Persimmon' as the female parent and 'Zenjimaru' as the male parent. The fruit is tall and square-shaped, with an average single fruit weight of 260 grams and a maximum single fruit weight of 480 grams; the fruit surface is red with 4 relatively obvious symmetrical longitudinal grooves; the peel is thin, golden yellow or orange-red, and the quality is superior; the contents of total sugar, protein, pectin and vitamin C in the fresh fruit are 17.14%, 0.48%, 0.98% and 176 mg/kg respectively, and the potassium content is 1018.50 mg/kg; in Xuchang City, Henan Province, the fruit ripens from late September to early October. This variety passed the approval of the Henan Provincial Forest Tree Variety Approval Committee in December 2009.
