How to promote flowering in sweet cherries? Master these four measures
1. Spray paclobutrazol. To ensure there are enough flower buds every year, first, from mid-June to early July, spray the canopy with a 500-1000 mg/kg paclobutrazol solution, once every 10-15 days, for 1-3 consecutive sprays, to inhibit vegetative growth (spray 1-2 times for trees of moderate vigor and 2-3 times for vigorously growing trees, until the canopy branches basically stop growing), and promote flower bud differentiation.

2. Foliar fertilization. Carry out foliar fertilization to ensure the nutrients needed for flower bud differentiation. Start foliar fertilization in late May, spraying once every 7-10 days for 4-5 consecutive sprays. You can alternate between a solution of 0.7% brown sugar + 1000xin "Tianda-2116" (special formula for fruit trees) and a solution of 0.4% potassium dihydrogen phosphate + 0.7% brown sugar.
3. Soil mulching with plastic film. Cover the soil with plastic film, control soil irrigation, and pay attention to timely drainage after rain to prevent rainwater from increasing soil moisture. As long as the soil is not dry, generally no watering is needed, to prevent stimulating the branches to grow vigorously again.
4. Adjust the main branches. Adjust the angle of the main branches again, propping and pulling them to 75-90 degrees, to slow the vegetative growth rate of the main branches, improve ventilation and light conditions inside the canopy, enhance photosynthetic function, and promote flower bud differentiation in the inner canopy.
