Why do cherry tree leaves curl? What causes it? How do you prevent and control it?

The cherry trees are generally growing well, but recently the leaves have curled, and I want to know what is going on. There are many factors that cause leaf curling in cherry trees, especially in summer, when the weather is hot and plants are very likely to develop leaf curl. If it is only due to hot weather causing a shortage of water in the plant, then as long as the plant is watered more or given appropriate shade, the symptoms can be relieved. But it may also be aphid damage; aphids mostly gather on the underside of leaves to pierce and suck sap, causing the leaves to curl and wrinkle. For aphids, you can spray 10% imidacloprid 2000 times dilution, or pyrethroid pesticides for control.
In addition, a deficiency of nutrient elements in cherries can also cause leaf curling. Here, Zhang Zhicheng lists the following deficiency symptoms and solutions for fruit growers' reference. Potassium deficiency: the leaf edges scorch, gradually spreading from the lower part of the new shoots to the upper part; from midsummer to late summer, scorching occurs on the leaves of old trees, and sometimes the leaves are bluish green, then the leaf margins curl parallel to the midrib and lose green, afterward appearing burned. Solution: spray 0.2%-0.3% monopotassium phosphate during the growing season, or apply potassium sulfate to the soil. Calcium deficiency: the tips of the young terminal leaves curl into a hook shape, and after a few days become brownish yellow and scorched. Solution: calcium preparations such as GA calcium supplement, Meilin high-efficiency calcium, and calcium lactate work well. Molybdenum deficiency: interveinal chlorosis of the leaves, even yellowing, with yellow or orange spots of varying sizes easily appearing; the leaves are slender and deformed, the leaf margins curl upward into a cup shape, and finally the mesophyll falls off and is incomplete. Solution: spray 1.2% ammonium molybdate solution on the leaves.
