How should black sugarcane be fertilized to achieve high yield? Please advise. Black-skinned chewing cane has entered the late growth stage and has basically stopped growing, and many growers think that further fertilization is useless. Actually, this is not the case. During the late growth stage, black-skinned chewing cane is in the most important period for accumulating sugar. According to surveys, applying tail-strengthening fertilizer in time during the late growth stage of black-skinned chewing cane, keeping the leaves dark green, and preventing the cane tail from becoming smaller can increase yield by about 15%. Therefore, the tail-strengthening fertilizer for black-skinned chewing cane should be applied in time. The specific application method is as follows:

In the late growth stage of black-skinned chewing cane, that is, in mid-to-late October each year, apply tail-strengthening fertilizer, mainly with quick-acting and quick-dissolving nitrogen fertilizer and potassium fertilizer, and appropriately increase the application of magnesium fertilizer and boron fertilizer. Per mu, apply 30-40 kg of high-nitrogen and high-potassium nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium (20-5-20) compound fertilizer, 8-10 kg of potassium nitrate, 15-20 kg of magnesium sulfate, and 5-6 kg of agricultural borax, dilute with 80-100 times clean water, stir fully and mix evenly, and after the fertilizer is completely dissolved, evenly pour it onto the soil around the roots of the black-skinned chewing cane. In addition, spray the leaves 3-5 times with a mixed solution of 0.1% magnesium sulfate, 0.1% borax, 0.3% potassium nitrate, and 600-times amino acid compound micro-fertilizer, spraying once every 7-10 days, evenly wetting all stems and leaves, preferably until water droplets begin to drip down, which is beneficial for increasing yield.
