What are the main pests and diseases in pear tree cultivation? Please explain.
Common pests and diseases in pear cultivation include the following:
1. Pear tree valsa canker mainly damages the bark of main and side branches, causing rot. There are two symptom types, canker type and branch blight type, and in severe cases many branches die back, leading to death. For control, strengthen orchard management, control the fruit load, improve the tree's disease resistance, and breed disease-resistant varieties. Promptly prune out diseased branches and scrape off diseased scars, burn them in a centralized manner, and apply 30 to 60 times dilution of asomate wettable powder. Before pear trees bud, spray 100 times dilution of 40% asomate wettable powder, or 100 times dilution of Fulanedi, or 5 degrees Baume lime sulfur mixture.
2. Pear black spot disease. This disease is a common and frequently occurring disease of pear trees, mainly harming fruit, leaves and new shoots. In Liaoning Province, leaf spots generally begin to appear from late April to early May, when the average temperature is 13°C to 15°C, and the disease is most severe from May to June. Fruit generally begins to develop the disease in early May, cracks and drops in mid-June, and fruit drop is greatest by late July. The key points of control are to strengthen cultivation management, apply more organic fertilizer, and avoid excessive nitrogen fertilizer. In combination with winter pruning, remove dead branches, fallen leaves and diseased fruit from the orchard and bury them deeply. In severely affected orchards, before the trees sprout, spray a mixture of 0.3% sodium pentachlorophenate plus 5Be lime sulfur mixture, and after petal fall spray once more with 200 times dilution of lime double-strength Bordeaux mixture, or 1000 times dilution of 50% amobam, 600 to 800 times dilution of thiram wettable powder, or 1000 to 1500 times dilution of 10% polyoxin wettable powder, but spraying cannot exceed 3 times a year. Alternating the above chemicals with Bordeaux mixture can improve control efficacy and reduce costs.
