For fertilizing pineapple, you can refer to the following methods:
. 1. Base fertilizer: it is the material foundation for ensuring good plant growth after planting, and requires a large amount of fertilizer, complete elements, high concentration, and balanced proportions. Barnyard manure, compost, farmyard mixed fertilizer, fermented and processed garbage fertilizer, green manure, and cake fertilizer can all be used, and an appropriate amount of chemical phosphorus, potassium, and magnesium fertilizer should be added when applying. In red soil and lateritic red soil areas that are deficient in nitrogen, low in calcium, and low in available phosphorus, apply 3.5-4 tons of barnyard manure, 150-200 kg of superphosphate, 15-20 kg of potassium sulfate, and 0.8-1 kg of magnesium sulfate per mu, mix together with two parts topsoil, apply into the trench, and then plant the seedlings.
. 2. Basal fertilizer: the basic fertilizer supplying pineapple's growth and development throughout the year, and the material condition for ensuring a high yield and good quality the following year, hence the saying "one basal application beats three topdressings." Apply it after harvesting the second crop of fruit. When applying, first open a fertilizer trench at the base of the plant or between rows, place dead leaves, fruit stalks, weeds, or green manure at the bottom of the trench, then apply farmyard manure and chemical fertilizer mixed with two parts topsoil. Generally, apply 2-2.5 tons of farmyard mixed fertilizer, 20-25 kg of nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium compound fertilizer, and 25-30 kg of cake fertilizer per mu. Earth up immediately after application.
. 3. Topdressing:
1) Sprout-strengthening fertilizer. Apply after harvesting the main crop, using Duole diluted with water and applied to the soil at the base of the stem or the leaf base, to promote the growth of suckers.
2) Pre-flowering fertilizer. Apply in November before flower bud differentiation, applying 2-2.5 kg of barnyard manure, 20-30 g of urea, and 40-50 g of superphosphate per plant, to promote flower bud differentiation, increase the number of layers of florets, and enhance the plant's cold resistance.
3) Bud-promoting fertilizer. In January, apply in a trench opened at the base of the stem, mainly phosphorus and potassium fertilizer mixed with half farmyard manure, applying 0.8-1 kg per plant, to promote plump flower buds and lay the material foundation for enlarging the fruit:
4) Fruit-strengthening and sprout-forcing fertilizer. Apply after flowering and during the small fruit expansion period in April-May, mainly potassium and phosphorus fertilizer with a small amount of nitrogen fertilizer, using an amount accounting for 1/5 of the annual fertilization amount, applied dry in a trench at the base of the stem or drenched with Duole.
4. Foliar spraying: because pineapple leaves have a special water-storage structure and absorption function, the effect of foliar spraying is particularly good, especially when root-zone fertilization is inconvenient after the plants close their rows, foliar spraying is an important way to supplement fertilizer. During the vegetative growth period, mainly use nitrogen fertilizer; during the reproductive growth period, mainly potassium, followed by phosphorus; foliar spray with the well-known Dafeibao, Duole, and calcium fertilizer. In May, June, and July, spraying Duole on the leaves 1-2 times each month can significantly increase the sugar content and flavor of the fruit.
