Jujube brown spot disease is one of the main causes of leaf drop and fruit drop in winter jujube, and its damage is extremely serious, so prevention and control of this disease must be grasped early and well.
Brown spot disease is what jujube farmers commonly call rigid rot disease or rotten fruit disease. The disease mostly starts from the jujube stalk, and some also occurs from the middle part of the jujube fruit. This disease is mainly related to piercing-sucking pests. After piercing-sucking pests bite and suck, the pathogen infects through the puncture wound. Rainy, humid, and muggy weather are favorable conditions for the occurrence of this disease.
Prevention and control methods: Strengthen cultivation management. Prune reasonably. Applying wound-healing antiseptic film directly to pruning cuts can quickly form a tough soft film that tightly adheres to the wood, protects the growth of wound healing tissue, prevents infection by rot pathogens, prevents soil and rainwater contamination, prevents frost damage, prevents the wound from drying and cracking, promotes wound healing, and enhances tree vigor.
Select varieties according to local conditions. Choose varieties suitable for the local area and with disease resistance for planting. Spray the soil surface with a 600-800 times dilution of Xin Gao Zhi Mo, which can preserve soil moisture, prevent water evaporation, protect against sun and drought, preserve heat and prevent frost damage, prevent soil compaction, and suffocate and isolate sources of disease and pests.
In winter, use Hu Shu Jiang Jun to clean the orchard to reduce pathogen sources. Remove diseased and residual leaves and dead branches, and burn them in a centralized manner. Water reasonably, drain promptly after rain, prevent moisture retention, and enhance disease resistance.
Chemical control. During the disease period, use a 800-1000 times dilution of 50% carbendazim, or a 1000 times dilution of 70% thiophanate-methyl plus an appropriate amount of Xin Gao Zhi Mo to make a mixed solution for control, which can greatly improve the utilization rate of the effective ingredients of pesticides and fertilizers.
