How to fertilize lychee? Master the nutrient requirements and fertilization techniques
(1) Nutrient requirements of lychee. According to measurements, in an orchard with a yield of 1000 kg per mu, every 1000 kg of mature fruit produced requires 9.8 kg of nitrogen, 1.1 kg of phosphorus, and 6.6 kg of potassium, with a nutrient ratio of 10:1:7. After fruit harvest and before ear emergence, generally two or three flushes of new shoots are produced before flower bud differentiation begins, and nitrogen demand is relatively high; from flower ear emergence to flower drop, the main processes are the growth and development of flower branches, flowers, and male and female flowers, and the proportion of phosphorus and potassium rises, but nitrogen still dominates; from pollination to fruit maturity, the main process is fruit growth and development, and the required ratio of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium is the same as in the previous stage.

(2) Fertilization amount for lychee
① Base fertilizer: generally after fruit harvest, apply about 1000-2000 kg of decomposed organic fertilizer per mu and 40-50 kg of general-purpose compound fertilizer (such as San'an) (about 1-1.5 kg per plant). After the leaves of each new flush turn green, some foliar fertilizer such as 0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate can be sprayed.
② Pre-flowering fertilizer: generally applied before flowering, mainly phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, applying 30-40 kg per mu (about 0.5-1 kg per plant) of high-potassium compound fertilizer. Do not apply excessive nitrogen fertilizer to avoid "flush growth"
③ Fruit-swelling fertilizer: after fruit set, apply 30-40 kg per mu (about 0.5-1 kg per plant) of high-potassium compound fertilizer, which will play an important role in swelling the fruit and reducing pre-harvest fruit drop.
