For growing pineapple, you can refer to the following fertilization methods:
        (1) Base fertilizer. On hillside land where pineapple is grown, the soil is dry and poor, so applying sufficient base fertilizer at one time during planting is a fundamental measure for high yield and good quality pineapple. Generally, base fertilizer can be applied together with deep ploughing and bed making. Farmers in fruit-growing areas habitually use cattle pen manure and bio-organic fertilizer as base fertilizer, combined with an appropriate amount of chemical fertilizer, applied in furrows or planting holes.

(2) Topdressing. From planting to maturity, pineapple has a growth cycle lasting 23 months. During the more than one year from planting to flower bud differentiation, the pineapple is in the vegetative growth stage of leaf cultivation. Generally, no topdressing is applied during the seedling stage; if seedling growth is poor, a thin water-soluble fertilizer can be applied. By early spring of the second year, a small amount of nitrogen fertilizer can be appropriately topdressed to promote leaf growth. Upon entering the reproductive growth period, 3 topdressings should be emphasized.
The first is in November, applying flower bud differentiation fertilizer, mainly phosphorus and potassium, with the amount of nitrogen fertilizer appropriately controlled.
The second is between December and January of the following year, applying bud-promoting fertilizer. Apply 10-15 kg of barnyard manure and 0.5 kg of phosphate fertilizer per plant.
The third is in April-May, applying fruit-setting and sprout-promoting fertilizer. At this stage, a medium amount of nitrogen and a high amount of potassium are used to promote fruit growth and ensure fruit quality.
