To prevent dragon fruit from cracking when it ripens, the following methods can be used for prevention and control:
      1. During the flowering period, spray 20 ppm cytokinin and 1000x Farmer's Calcium once every about 10-15 days. Cytokinin promotes the proliferation of fruit embryo cells, which helps accommodate substances during the later expansion stage and creates a larger potential space for holding them. Calcium combines with pectin to form calcium pectinate, which improves the toughness of the peel, thereby reducing fruit cracking in the late expansion stage when the fruit develops rapidly;
       2. Cover the soil around the tree with straw (rice straw or weeds) to retain moisture, keeping the soil moisture content as uniform as possible, and reducing sudden increases in soil moisture caused by sudden excessive rain, which can also cause a sudden increase in the fruit's moisture content, making the flesh develop too quickly and split the peel.
