Mango sooty mold is a fungal disease. So far, 6 pathogens causing mango sooty mold have been identified in China. It damages leaves, shoots and fruit, affecting leaf photosynthesis and fruit appearance.
Control methods:
First, plant at a reasonable density and prune to keep the canopy well ventilated and exposed to light.
Second, focus on controlling pests such as aphids, scale insects, flat-headed leafhoppers and white wax cicadas; when applying insecticides, you can add potassium permanganate at a 1000-fold dilution.
Third, at the early stage of the disease, spray 0.5% half-strength Bordeaux mixture or lime sulfur at 0.3 degrees Baumé.
