Zhongdiwang has compiled the environmental requirements for blueberry cultivation, listed below for readers' reference.

       Blueberry requirements for climatic conditions:
Different types and variety groups of blueberries have different requirements for climatic conditions, and the principle of matching the site to the crop should be followed. Usually, factors such as the length of the frost-free period, the minimum winter temperature, the chilling requirement (effective accumulated temperature <7.2°C), precipitation and its distribution, and sunshine hours during the growing season should be considered.
Based on China's climatic characteristics and the growth habits of different blueberry variety groups, blueberry growing areas can be roughly divided into four production regions: the Changbai Mountain and Greater and Lesser Khingan Mountains blueberry production region, the Liaodong Peninsula and Jiaodong Peninsula blueberry production region, the Yangtze River Basin blueberry production region, and the South China blueberry production region.

       Blueberry requirements for soil:
The main factors to consider when choosing soil include: soil texture, pH value, organic matter content, groundwater level, and so on. The soil conditions suitable for blueberry growth are: loose sandy loam with good drainage; soil pH 4.0-5.5, with the most suitable soil pH being 4.3-4.8; soil organic matter content 8-12%, and at least not lower than 5%; the optimal soil water level is 40-60 cm, with the soil moist but not waterlogged.

       Blueberry requirements for water:
The blueberry root system is relatively shallow and is quite sensitive to lack of water, so in most cases timely irrigation is needed according to soil moisture conditions. River water, reservoir water, or groundwater can all be used as water sources for blueberry irrigation, but avoid using water sources with high salinity and high pH to irrigate blueberry orchards.

       Blueberry requirements for terrain:
For commercial blueberry cultivation, orchards should preferably be established on relatively gentle flat land or gently sloping land (slope less than 10%). Although steeper mountain land is beneficial for improving fruit quality, it brings many inconveniences to field operations (such as irrigation, transport of production materials, fruit harvesting, etc.). Avoid choosing valley land or low-lying plots for blueberry cultivation, so as to prevent frost damage during the flowering period.
