To increase both yield and quality when growing jujube trees, you can refer to the following management methods:

1. Apply sufficient organic fertilizer and phosphorus-potassium fertilizer. Many years of practice have proven that producing 100 kg of fresh jujubes requires 1 kg of pure nitrogen, 2 kg of phosphorus pentoxide, and 1.5 kg of potassium. To produce pollution-free, high-quality, high-yield jujubes, sufficient organic fertilizer and phosphorus-potassium fertilizer should be applied. Organic fertilizer is applied twice, before flowering in early spring and before fruit harvest in autumn, into the 20-30 cm soil layer, with 30-50 kg of organic fertilizer and 1-2 kg of compound fertilizer per tree each time. For jujube trees that have entered the full fruiting stage, when the base fertilizer is sufficient, only 3 topdressings are needed per year, namely the bud-promoting fertilizer, flowering fertilizer, and fruit-promoting fertilizer, combined with watering.

2. Spray growth regulators and micro-fertilizers to protect flowers and fruit. During the full flowering stage and fruit enlargement stage of jujube trees, spray 2-3 times with a mixture of 10-15 ppm gibberellin, 0.1% boric acid, 0.2% monopotassium phosphate, and 0.5% urea.

3. Girdling during the flowering stage. Girdling can control the growth of the root system and aboveground branches and leaves of jujube trees, allowing flowers and fruit to obtain more nutrients and improving the fruit-setting rate. Girdling method: the first girdling is carried out when 30% of flowers have opened, at a height of 20-30 cm from the ground. The girdling position moves up by about 5 cm each year; when it reaches the main trunk branches, start again from the lower part. After girdling, apply 300 times diluted imidacloprid insecticide at the girdle wound to protect it.

4. Place bees during the flowering stage. Use insects for pollination to improve the fruit-setting rate.

5. Spray water during the flowering stage. The suitable relative air humidity for pollination during the flowering stage is 70%-80%; when humidity is below 40%-50%, pollen development is poor. Therefore, if high temperature and drought occur during the flowering stage, spray water promptly between 3-5 pm, once every 1-3 days, for 2-3 consecutive sprays, to promote pollination and flower bud germination.

6. Prevent fruit cracking. Starting in late July, spray a 3000 ppm calcium chloride aqueous solution or 0.1% zinc sulfate solution once every half month, which can effectively reduce fruit cracking.

7. Timely control of pests and diseases. For pest and disease control, various fungicides such as Bordeaux mixture, copper green emulsion, and streptomycin can be sprayed. For pests such as scale insects, fruit borers, red spider mites, and plant bugs, biological pesticides or high-efficiency, low-toxicity cypermethrin pesticides can be sprayed once every 7-10 days.

8. Ripening and harvesting. One week before harvest, spray a 200-300 ppm ethylene aqueous solution to promote fruit ripening and increase sugar content.
