How much is lychee per jin? Which is more expensive, Feizixiao or Nuomici?
Summer is the season when fruits are abundant, but this year fruit prices are all very high. In Guangdong, June is the main season for lychees, the price of YuhebAo lycheesis relatively expensive,so have lychee prices fallen back?
Starting in early June, large quantities of lychees began to hit the market in the Guangzhou area. Those of us who often shop in supermarkets and search on e-commerce platforms will find that some lychee prices have fallen back to just over ten yuan per jin, and occasionally there are even surprises: less than 10 yuan per jin!
During this year's Dragon Boat Festival holiday period, lychees became a promotional item for almost all fruit vendors. The Feizixiao lychee variety is a common variety on the market, and we can often hear vendors calling out: “Feizixiao from Conghua, delicious and extra sweet.” The price is generally just over ten yuan per jin; now e-commerce platforms are also heavily promoting lychees, for example the “Tmall 618” major promotion: Haikou volcanic lychees average under 12 yuan per jin, and Maoming “Feizixiao” direct supply averages about 10 yuan per jin. But the varieties are just these ordinary ones: “Feizixiao”, “Baitangying”, and “Baila”.
By late June to July, the market volume of “Feizixiao”, “Baitangying”, and “Baila” will gradually decrease, while varieties such as “Guiwei”, “Nuomici”, and “Gualv” will take over, with market volume increasing one after another. But because of this year's weather impact, lychee production in various lychee-producing areas has decreased, so in terms of lychee prices, the overall decline is relatively limited. Especially for the famous lychee varieties Guiwei, Nuomici, and Gualv, as well as high-quality organically grown varieties, prices will not decrease; a retail price of forty to fifty yuan per jin is very common, and some may be seventy to eighty yuan per jin.
This means that our “lychee freedom” is limited to the level of “Feizixiao”, “Baitangying”, and the like.
Lychee prices in different regions also vary greatly. Guangzhou is rich in lychees, so lychee prices in the Guangzhou market are relatively low: the average wholesale price of Feizixiao is 15.43 yuan/jin, and the average retail price is 23 yuan/jin; the average wholesale price of Baitangying is 16.65 yuan/jin, and the average retail price is 25.00 yuan/jin. In the Nanjing retail market, “Feizixiao” has appeared at a high price of 78 yuan/jin, and in Chengdu a “Feizixiao” price of 70 yuan/jin has also been monitored.
Compared with previous years, this year's fruit prices have risen by a very large margin. As for this year's lychee fruit prices, what is your view? Are they within the range you can afford?
