Wampee, it is not only a fruit, but can also be called a medicinal herb. The most common variety of this fruit is the chicken-heart sweet wampee. Today I will introduce a new variety, “black wampee”, which is also a seedless wampee. Do you know it?
There are mainly four kinds of wampee on the market, namely large chicken-heart wampee, chicken-heart sweet wampee, seedless wampee and black wampee. Among them, black wampee is a relatively rare variety. It generally appears in high-end fruit stores, and its price is also relatively high, but the sales of black wampee still fall short of demand.
Black-gold wampee is rarely grown in China. After trial planting, this new wampee variety is especially suitable for cultivation on the Leizhou Peninsula. The black-gold wampee tree has strong vitality and drought tolerance; the tree is also easy to manage, its fruit is large and attractive in shape, and its taste is fresh and sweet, and there is relatively high demand in the domestic market. To grow black-gold wampee, the initial input production cost per mu is only 2000 yuan, and the yield per mu is about 3000 jin. After two years, it will bear fruit and be harvested.
Black-gold wampee not only has good economic benefits, but also has a long fruiting period. When it has been planted for four or five years, it can enter the peak fruiting period and can be continuously harvested for twenty to thirty years. Its ripening time is different from that of ordinary wampee. It matures more than a month earlier than other wampee, thus giving it a price advantage, and at the same time it has few pests and diseases, which saves production costs.
This black wampee is actually small chicken-heart wampee, but because its main characteristic is that the peel turns black after ripening, it is called black wampee. Its taste is especially sweet, and it generally has one seed. Now after hybridization it has become the basically seedless black chicken-heart wampee. This is the sweetest wampee variety so far.
The new hybrid black wampee indeed has not a single seed, and it tastes even sweeter than lychee. Have you ever eaten this kind of black wampee where you are?
