Pollution-Free Spring Cabbage Cultivation Techniques and Management Key Points
Pollution-free spring cabbage cultivation refers to a type of production method in which cabbage is grown under spring climate conditions in accordance with pollution-free production requirements. It has corresponding requirements for the production area environment, the use of fertilizers and pesticides, and the harvesting stage, with the goal of keeping harmful substance residues in the product within permitted limits to ensure food safety.
When growing cabbage in spring, the first step is to select a good variety. It is best to choose types with strong winter hardiness that are not prone to early bolting, and to arrange the sowing time according to the local temperature recovery, so as to avoid seedlings being exposed to low temperatures for a long time and passing through vernalization. During the seedling stage, insulation measures can be taken, and transplanting to the field can be done after the weather steadily turns warm.
In terms of field management, reasonable close planting and scientific fertilization should be carried out. The base fertilizer should mainly be fully decomposed organic fertilizer, supplemented with an appropriate amount of chemical fertilizer. During the growth period, topdressing and watering should be done according to growth conditions. In the later stage of spring cabbage growth, temperatures rise and leaf or head growth accelerates, so water supply should be even to prevent splitting heads or disease outbreaks caused by alternating dry and wet conditions.
Pest and disease control is a key part of pollution-free cultivation. In production, priority should be given to agricultural measures such as selecting disease-resistant varieties, crop rotation, and cleaning the field, combined with physical methods such as insect-proof nets and insect-killing lamps. When necessary, low-toxicity and low-residue pesticides may be used, and the pre-harvest interval must be strictly observed, with pesticide application stopped before harvest.
Spring cabbage produced using pollution-free methods has good quality, and when it reaches the market it coincides with the seasonal transition in vegetable supply, giving it relatively high market acceptance. It is a fairly common planting choice for spring vegetable growers. As long as the key points of variety, sowing time, and input use are well controlled, it is possible to grow spring cabbage that is both safe and easy to sell.
