Mini rabbit is a general term for a group of small-bodied pet rabbits, and the common ones include the Dutch Dwarf Rabbit, the Mini Lop, and the Dutch Dwarf (Dutch Marked) Rabbit and other small breeds. These rabbits have short, small ears, rounded heads, and large, bright eyes, and their adult body weight is generally not large; overall they look round and plump, very endearing.

Mini rabbits are mostly gentle in temperament, but by nature they are timid and alert, and they tend to be nervous when they first arrive in a new environment, so the owner needs to keep them company patiently as they gradually become familiar. They spend most of the day resting quietly, and are relatively active at dawn and dusk, which is fairly close to the living habits of wild burrowing rabbits.

For daily care, dry hay should be the staple food, paired with an appropriate amount of special rabbit pellets and clean drinking water. Hay is rich in crude fiber, which both helps digestion and serves to wear down the teeth, because a rabbit's teeth grow continuously, and a lack of teeth wearing can easily lead to problems such as overgrown teeth. The cage should be kept dry and well ventilated and cleaned regularly; in summer, take care to prevent heatstroke and lower the temperature, as rabbits are animals that are rather afraid of heat.

As for common problems, mini rabbits have relatively sensitive stomachs and intestines, and switching food too quickly or improper feeding can easily cause digestive discomfort, so foods with high water and sugar content should be fed with caution. Normally, rabbits should not be bathed frequently, and when picking one up, you should support its rump and body to avoid it being startled, struggling, and falling and getting hurt. With proper care, a mini rabbit can accompany its owner for many years, and it is a quite popular companion small animal.
