The atemoya is shipped directly from the place of origin and harvested at 80% ripeness. When the home delivery arrives, it is not yet soft, so keep it in the box in a cool, shaded place and wait for it to ripen and soften. Because these past few days have been colder, it took about 5 days to soften.

Choosing fruit with the "Good Garden Practice" safe fruit and vegetable label is a good method.
Fruit that is plump and has protruding pointed granules is better.
At the same size, the heavier one is sweeter.
When the scales on the surface are even and evenly spaced, the sweetness and moisture are both sufficient.
If buying ripe, soft atemoya, pay attention to whether the stem end has turned black.
[How to store]
Sugar apple that has not ripened and softened must not be put in the refrigerator, or it will become "mute sugar apple" and cannot be eaten.
Lightly spray the sugar apple with water, then wrap or cover it with newspaper, and it can ripen and soften faster.
Keep it in a cool, shaded place, and once it is slightly soft, it can be refrigerated for 3~5 days. (Wrap in paper, put in a plastic bag, and tie it loosely.) Wash it only just before eating.
When the atemoya is ripe, the protruding pointed granules become flatter. Gently pinch the stem end and the fruit to see if it has softened.
[How to eat]
Cut the atemoya in half, then slice it.
Bian's highly recommended way to eat it → for a soft, ripe atemoya, use a knife along the peel to easily cut off the flesh and then cut it into pieces. This lets you eat the flesh cleanly without getting your hands sticky.
Savor the rich, refreshingly sweet flavor bit by bit. So satisfying! You can also freeze it and let it thaw slightly before eating; the dense texture is just like ice cream!
