How should Nardostachys jatamansi essential oil be stored to preserve its quality and potency? Is Nardostachys jatamansi toxic? Let's find out together.

How to store Nardostachys jatamansi essential oil

(1) Store in dark glass bottles

Essential oils must be stored in dark glass bottles with light-blocking properties, which can reduce ultraviolet exposure by at least 90%. Never store essential oils in plastic bottles, as the chemical components of plastic will damage the quality of the essential oil.

(2) Seal completely

To prevent lavender essential oil from oxidizing and evaporating quickly, complete sealing is very important. The cap of the essential oil bottle must be tightened, and it is best to reduce the number of times it is opened. If the cap is frequently opened, the essential oil can easily deteriorate through contact with air. Therefore, it is best to choose essential oils in small packaging. Avoid contact with sunlight and strong light. Sunlight is the number one killer of essential oils and must be absolutely avoided; fluorescent lamps and light bulbs of higher intensity should also be kept from shining on essential oils.

(3) Keep away from heat and high temperatures

Essential oils should be placed in a dry, cool place, and should not be too close to electrical appliances, and certainly not in the kitchen or bathroom.

(4) Pay attention to storage temperature

The appropriate storage temperature for essential oils is a normal room temperature of 18-30qC, with the optimal temperature being about 25°C. Remember that essential oils absolutely must not be stored in the refrigerator, as large temperature differences will accelerate changes in the quality of the essential oil.
