How to Store Mustard Essential Oil and How to Pickle Mustard Root
How should mustard essential oil be stored to keep its quality and benefits intact? The most common way to eat mustard root is to pickle it, so do you know how to pickle mustard root?
How to store mustard essential oil:
1. Essential oils should be placed in dark glass bottles
Essential oils evaporate easily, so they must be stored in dark glass bottles with a light-blocking effect, which can reduce UV exposure by 90%. Do not store essential oils in plastic bottles, as the chemical components of plastic will damage the quality of the essential oil. Therefore, when choosing essential oils, be sure to choose those in dark glass bottles. If you see essential oil in a plastic bottle, it means its quality is very poor. Of course, if conditions permit, you can also store essential oil in dark glass bottles inside a wooden box, such as a sandalwood or pine box.
2. The cap of the essential oil bottle must be tightened
Because essential oils are volatile, to avoid oxidation and rapid evaporation, the cap of the essential oil bottle must be tightened. It is best to open the cap only when using it, to reduce the number of times it is opened and prevent oxygen in the air from oxidizing the essential oil, which would cause quality to decline.
3. It is not suitable to put it in the refrigerator, because the large temperature difference will cause the texture of the essential oil to become cloudy and its quality to decline.
