Four Key Points of Rice Seedling Cultivation Technology and Materials Needed for the Seedling Soil Formula
Rice is now our most important food, it is our staple food, so how much do you know about rice cultivation methods? Let's first take a look at the rice seedling cultivation methods below!
Seedling cultivation methods
1. Seedbed soil
Use one part wood shaving compost (each box weighs about 520 grams, 125 kg per hectare), add one part crushed rice husk (each box weighs about 150 grams, 36 kg per hectare), add one part soil (each box weighs about 800 grams, 192 kg per hectare), that is, a 1:1:1 volume ratio as the seedling cultivation material. The mixing method is carried out with a mixing mixer, or one part wood shaving compost and one part crushed rice husk are evenly spread on the upper layer of the soil pile, then mixed into the soil with a tractor, and finally screened with an electric soil crushing and soil sieving dual-purpose machine to obtain uniform seedbed soil. For covering soil, mix one part crushed rice husk with one part soil (that is, 1:1) for covering. The total soil amount including covering soil, calculated at 300 grams per box, is 264 kg per hectare. Compared with the current 432 kg of seedling soil mixed with rice husk and soil, this saves 168 kg per hectare (38.9%).
2. Apply the mixed liquid of fertilizer and pesticide
Before and after sowing, apply 600 c.c. per box of a mixed liquid of 25% etridiazole emulsifiable concentrate at 1000 times + 35% benomyl wettable powder at 2000 times + Taiwan Fertilizer No. 1 instant fertilizer at 100-120 times (spray 400 c.c. per box before sowing and 200 c.c. per box after sowing).
3. Sowing
For the first crop season, sow 280 grams of sprouted wet seeds per box; for the second crop season, sow 250 grams of sprouted wet seeds per box. After sowing, spray the mixed liquid of fertilizer and pesticide again, spraying 200 c.c. per box onto the seeds, then cover with soil, preferably so that the seeds are not visible.
4. Stacking
After covering with soil, the seedling boxes are immediately stacked. The purpose is to keep warm and promote uniform sprouting among the boxes. Each stack should preferably be 20-25 boxes high. On the very top, place one seedling box filled with soil but not sown, to prevent exposure to sunlight. In the first crop season, stack outdoors in a wind-sheltered, sunny place, and cover with plastic cloth to keep warm and moist. The stacking time is 2-3 days. In the second crop season, stack indoors or in a cool, ventilated place; there is no need to keep warm, and each stack should be spaced 5 cm apart to allow air circulation, so as to prevent the temperature from rising too high. The stacking time is 1-2 days. Wait until the white young shoots extend about one centimeter, that is, when the young shoots press against the bottom of the upper box, they can be moved to the seedling bed so that the seedlings green up and continue to grow.
5. Seedling greening, heat preservation, and irrigation and drainage management are the same as the rice husk-mixed soil seedling cultivation method.
