The "Four Do Not Spray" Rules for Applying Fertilizer to Edible Fungi

In the cultivation of edible fungi, the method of fertilizer application is very particular. Today we will look at what to keep in mind when spraying: the nozzle should not point directly at the fruiting bodies, and at the same time you should also observe the "four do not spray" rules:

First, do not spray on young, small mushroom buds, so as to prevent them from "swelling to death"; second, do not spray on places where mushrooms have just been picked or where mushroom remnants remain, so as to prevent bacterial diseases; third, do not spray when the air humidity is too high; fourth, do not spray when pests and diseases are severe inside the mushroom shed (room). The soaking method is mainly used for bag-cultivated edible fungi. After harvesting 1-2 flushes of mushrooms, if the cultivation bags are in a state of severe water shortage, they can be soaked in a prepared nutrient solution until they recover to close to their original weight.

The hole-irrigation method is mainly used on mushroom beds. When the mushroom bed produces many mushrooms and water and nutrients are consumed excessively, this method can be used. The specific method is: punch holes in the mushroom bed at a spacing of 10cm, flood the mushroom bed with the prepared nutrient solution, and cover with soil after adding the nutrient solution.

Two, the concentration should be appropriate. When the nutrient solution concentration is too high, not only is it difficult for the mycelium to absorb it, but it will also hinder and even damage the mycelium; when the concentration is too low, the effect is not obvious and the goal of high yield cannot be achieved. At a suitable concentration, when adding the nutrient solution, it should also be determined according to the water content of the culture material: if the water content of the culture material is relatively high, the concentration of the nutrient solution should be increased, the amount of water used should be reduced, and the ventilation should be increased after adding. Conversely, the concentration of the nutrient solution should be reduced and the amount of water used should be increased. Commonly used nutrient solution concentrations are: urea 0.3%-0.5%, monopotassium phosphate 0.2%, etc. Be sure to grasp the principle of "little but frequent".

Three, the nutrients should be comprehensive. Several kinds of nutrient solutions should be used alternately regularly, so that the nutrients obtained by the fruiting bodies are both comprehensive and reasonable. If hormones are used to stimulate the growth of edible fungi, they should be used only after the nutrient solution has been supplemented.

Four, pay attention to changes in the environment. When the temperature reaches above 20°C, it is difficult for the mycelium to form high-quality fruiting bodies. Except for high-temperature-type edible fungus varieties, no nutrient solution needs to be added.

That is all for sharing the fertilizer application methods for edible fungi. I hope this article is helpful to everyone, and good luck to you all.
