How to solve the troubles of edible fungi? Four methods - trapping, fumigating, spraying and treating the substrate - come to the rescue
When growing edible fungi, you need to take many details into account and make multiple adjustments to prevent and kill pests.
Trapping and killing adults: adult mushroom flies, mushroom gnats and other adults are phototactic, so you can set up black light lamps or fluorescent lamps, hang sticky boards around the lamps or place a box of dichlorvos solution under the lamp, so that the adults touch the pesticide and are poisoned.
Fumigation and killing: under sealed conditions, fumigate with 2~3 tablets of aluminium phosphide per cubic meter of space to eliminate indoor insect sources.
Spraying pesticide to kill insects: if pests are found before mushroom fruiting, spray the bed surface with 500 times diluted trichlorfon solution or 1000 times diluted decis solution to kill the insects.
Substrate treatment to kill insects: for every 50 kg of growing substrate, use 15 ml of dicofol, mix with 10 kg of water, spray evenly on the substrate, stirring the substrate while spraying, and pile it up for 3 days after spraying to eliminate insect sources in the substrate; or mix into the growing substrate 40% phoxim at 500 times dilution or 2.5% decis at 1000 times dilution, both of which have good insecticidal effects.
