How to apply pesticides to control springtails in edible mushrooms? Methods for controlling springtails in edible mushroom cultivation

Edible mushrooms are a common type of vegetable in our daily lives, with very high nutritional value, and are deeply loved by people. During the cultivation of edible mushrooms, the appearance of springtails seriously affects the yield and market quality of edible mushrooms. This article will introduce the application methods for controlling springtails in edible mushrooms.

Springtails, also called soot bugs, have a short cycle and fast reproduction rate, and can produce 6-7 generations per year. They mainly damage young mushrooms, causing them to wither and die. They can also bore into the mushroom stipe or cap to feed, and within 1-3 days they can chew mature fruiting bodies full of holes, causing them to lose market value and resulting in significant losses to edible mushroom production.

Control methods:

1. Clean sanitation, eliminate insect sources. ① Thoroughly clean garbage inside and outside the spawn production site and cultivation site, especially avoid standing water, to prevent springtails from breeding. ② Springtails prefer warm and humid conditions but cannot tolerate high temperatures. Use fermented material for the substrate, bringing the material temperature to 65°C-70°C, which can kill adults and eggs. ③ The mushroom house and casing soil must be fumigated and disinfected before use. ④ Install mesh screens on the doors and windows of the mushroom house.

2. Trap-killing method. ① Springtails have a habit of liking water. For areas where springtails occur, water can be used to trap and then eliminate them. The specific method is: fill a small basin with clean water, and many springtails will jump into the water. The next day, change the water and continue using water to trap and kill them. After several consecutive times, the pest population density will be greatly reduced. ② Use 90% trichlorfon diluted 1000 times plus a small amount of honey to make a trap-killing agent, divide it into basins or trays, and place them scattered on the mushroom bed. Springtails will jump into the basins when they smell the sweetness. This method is safe and can also kill other pests.

3. Control. For edible mushroom diseases and pests, pesticide control is not advocated. Other methods should be used as much as possible, and pesticides should be used sparingly or not at all. Only when the pest infestation is severe should they be used as a last resort. The specific methods are: ① When there are no mushrooms on the bed surface, spray with 0.2% dimethoate to kill them. ② During the fruiting period, spray 150-fold to 200-fold pyrethrin solution. ③ Spray neem preparation: prepare at a ratio of neem bark:water = 1:3-1:5, mix evenly and boil for 1.5 hours to make the stock solution. When using, dilute 1-fold and use immediately after preparation. ④ Fumigate with 10 grams of aluminum phosphide per cubic meter.
