Key points for edible fungus management on hazy days

There have been many hazy days recently, which have a major impact on people and other organisms. Haze is caused by pollution and water molecules in the air, but mainly by slow air movement in a relatively static state. Therefore, hazy days have a major impact on the growth of edible fungi. What affects edible fungi is not necessarily caused by haze itself, but mainly by the lack of air movement. When air movement is poor, all the carbon dioxide produced by the respiration of edible fungi accumulates in the mushroom shed, which is extremely unfavorable to the growth of edible fungi.

Edible fungus management on hazy days:

1. Strengthen temperature management. Winter production focuses mainly on heat preservation. During the day, raise the temperature inside the shed as much as possible (within the high-temperature range that edible fungi can tolerate), so as to ensure that the nighttime temperature does not drop too low.

2. Strengthen water management. On hazy days, air movement is poor and water loss is relatively small. While ensuring the normal growth of edible fungi, the frequency and amount of watering should be reduced.

3. Strengthen ventilation management. This is the key to production. Sometimes even when the vents are open, the air does not move, so the carbon dioxide concentration rises and affects the normal growth of edible fungi. Therefore, on the basis of natural ventilation, exhaust fans should be turned on regularly for forced ventilation, 2-3 times a day, 5-10 minutes each time, to expel the carbon dioxide deposited in the shed and facilitate the normal respiration of edible fungi.
