Edible mushrooms suitable for summer cultivation

Straw mushroom. The straw mushroom is a high-temperature edible mushroom and is quite sensitive to temperature requirements during its growth and development. To ensure that the straw mushroom can normally develop mycelium and produce mushrooms after spawning, the cultivation time should be chosen when the daily average temperature is stable above 23°C. Generally, cultivation is carried out from early to mid-June to late August, which favors mycelial growth and fruiting body development.

For outdoor cultivation, fertile, loose and well-aerated soil should be selected. Whichever raw material is chosen for cultivating straw mushrooms, the material must be dry and free of mildew. Newly harvested rice straw must be thoroughly dried, otherwise the material easily rots. Before spawning, the material should be pre-wetted and mixed with 5% lime water, and once the pH value reaches above 12, a heap should be built for fermentation for 4~5 days; the moisture content of the compost substrate should be controlled at 65%~70%.

Abalone mushroom. The abalone mushroom is a rare edible mushroom of the medium-high temperature type. From March to July, when cultivating the abalone mushroom with raw materials such as cottonseed hulls, corncobs, bagasse, sawdust, rice straw and wheat straw by the sterilized substrate bag cultivation method, generally 4~5 flushes of mushrooms can be harvested, and the biological conversion rate can reach about 90%. With 1000 kg of substrate, about 900 kg of fresh mushrooms can be produced in 3 months.

High-temperature oyster mushroom. Oyster mushroom strains that can normally produce mushrooms within the temperature range of 15°C~36°C can be called high-temperature-type oyster mushroom strains. Cultivating oyster mushrooms in the high-temperature season has a short production cycle, a large market demand and a high selling price, which can both meet market demand and increase the income of mushroom growers.
