Do seeds need sunlight to germinate? A detailed guide to light conditions for plants

Do seeds need sunlight to germinate?
In fact, the question of whether seeds need sunlight to germinate still depends on the situation. The germination of some plant seeds, such as sunflower, wheat, and bean seeds, has nothing to do with sunlight; but seeds of plants like cockscomb, datura, amaranth, and onion have a higher germination rate under dark conditions than under sunny conditions; and there are also some plants, such as cockscomb grass and love-in-a-mist, whose seeds have a higher germination rate under light conditions.
So when sowing plant seeds, we should choose the sowing method according to the different characteristics of the plant seeds. For plant seeds that like light, we can choose shallow sowing; and for plant seeds that do not like light, we can increase the sowing depth to avoid light having an adverse effect on seed germination.
It should be noted that,no matter what kind of plant seed it is, after germination, they all need sunlight, so that they can synthesize chlorophyll, produce nutrients, and let the plant grow more healthily.
