Pay attention to light when growing flowers, add color to the festive home
In winter, many households like to grow a few pots of flowers to beautify the indoor environment. However, winter light is weak, which has a great impact on the growth and flowering of sun-loving flowers.
Light is a limiting factor for flower growth. Without light, plants cannot carry out photosynthesis, lack nutrients and energy, and are difficult to grow. Light also affects the ornamental effect of flowers; without certain light conditions, plants will not develop colors and markings. At the same time, light affects the ornamental lifespan of flowers. Lacking suitable light, flower leaves easily turn yellow, so the flowers cannot grow normally.
Light also has a great impact on flower blooming. Generally speaking, on the same flower plant, branches that fully receive light form more flower buds; conversely, there are fewer flower buds, and there will be fewer flowers later. While meeting light requirements, the length of daylight also has a very large impact on flowering. This is because flowers require a certain day length for flower bud differentiation, and only when this precondition is met can the flowers bloom smoothly.
How can you tell whether flowers lack light? Generally speaking, when light is insufficient, plants show symptoms such as leaf color becoming lighter and yellowing, leaves being small and thin, internodes lengthening, branches being thin and weak, flower buds yellowing and dropping early, flowers being small and not brightly colored, fragrance becoming weaker, drought and cold resistance decreasing, and being prone to pests and diseases. Based on the above phenomena, you can judge that the flowers lack light.
In winter, insufficient light for indoor flower growing affects flower growth and the ornamental value of plants, so on warm days the flower pots should often be moved outdoors to get sun. If the lighting conditions are poor, fluorescent lamp irradiation can be used. Generally, this can be done by installing a reflector on a lighting tube, and sometimes reflective materials such as mirrors and tin foil can also be used to supplement light. In order to make flowers grow evenly and upright during growth and flowering and keep the plant shape beautiful and neat, the direction of the flower pots should often be changed so that every direction can receive light.
As long as corresponding measures are taken to increase light intensity and duration, flowers can grow and bloom smoothly, adding color to people's festive home environment.
