The edible mushroom industry shows 8 development trends
In recent years, edible mushroom production has developed steadily, showing the following 8 development trends:
Development toward multiple varieties. At present, nearly 20 varieties of edible mushrooms are cultivated on a large scale in China, and in recent years many new varieties have been successfully domesticated and cultivated. Experts point out that on the basis of stabilizing existing edible mushroom production, new varieties with cultivation value should be actively promoted.
Development toward high quality. At present, edible mushroom production in China still shows a tendency to "pursue yield and neglect quality," which leaves many Chinese edible mushroom products uncompetitive on the international market. To revitalize the edible mushroom industry, improving quality is already an urgent task.
Development toward new materials. Broadening the channels for substrate materials can not only reduce production costs, but is also the only way to change the situation of scarce resources for mushroom-growing materials and maintain the long-term prosperity of China's edible mushroom production. From the current situation, producers should be actively guided to use various industrial and agricultural by-products and waste materials for cultivation.
Development toward new techniques. Use new technologies, new methods, new strains and new materials to reduce the production costs of edible mushrooms and improve product quality.
Development toward profitability. Use various forms to vigorously carry out vertical cultivation, practice intercropping of mushrooms with grain (vegetables), and achieve multi-layer production.
Development toward mechanization. Replace manual operations with mechanical operations to improve labor efficiency. In recent years, many specialized machines for edible mushroom production have appeared in China; as long as they are reasonably matched, they can form assembly-line production.
Development toward specialization and large-scale operation. Shift from sideline production to specialized production, and adopt joint production methods to continuously expand the scale of production. Relevant experts believe that areas with the conditions should preferably carry out "one village, one product" production, making a certain edible mushroom a local famous, special and high-quality product.
Development toward deep processing. Carrying out deep processing of edible mushrooms can, on the one hand, convert large quantities of products and solve the problem of "cheap mushrooms hurting farmers" when large amounts of fresh products hit the market; on the other hand, it can obtain very high value-added processing benefits, such as producing various types of mushroom foods, beverages, tonics, etc. Their production processes are not very complicated, and the finished products are also very popular.
