Rosemary can be grown as a potted plant and is also a great seasoning for cooking. Many herb-growing experts have said that if they could only choose one herb, it would be rosemary. I like rosemary too. Rose-mary - even the name is full of charm, like a clean and simple yet effortlessly charming forest girl smiling at you. Rosemary has a fresh pine-like fragrance, and I am very enchanted by this scent; every time I smell it, I feel as if I am in a great forest.

Rosemary can be propagated through cuttings. But cuttings are mostly taken from winter to early spring, selecting fresh, healthy stems that have not yet fully lignified as cuttings, cutting about 10-15 cm from the top, removing about 1/3 of the leaves from the lower part of the branch, and inserting directly into the medium. Keep the medium moist; roots will form in about 3-4 weeks, and after 7 weeks they can be transplanted to open ground. The minimum night temperature for cuttings is 13°C.

Rosemary Cutting Propagation Technique - Branch Cutting Method Illustrated:

1. Fill a small pot with potting soil to about 80% full, and press it down slightly firm.

2. Cut a branch of about 15 cm from the top of the rosemary, press your finger on the bottom about 3 cm of the branch, and move downward to remove the leaves.

3. After removing the leaves at the bottom, you can insert it directly for cutting. Or you can first dip it in a rooting agent to promote root formation and growth.

4. Insert the rosemary straight into the soil.

Rosemary cuttings can be done in soil or in water, then planted in soil after rooting. Gardeners can choose their preferred cutting method.

Key points for cuttings:

Remove the leaves from the lower 1/3 of the branch, fill the flower pot with soft fine soil, press the potting soil firm and level with your hands, but not too tight, water thoroughly, insert the prepared cuttings directly into the soft fine soil, spacing at least 4 cm apart, and place in a sunny spot.

Water thoroughly the first time, then water thoroughly once a week, and keep the soil moist on ordinary days. If the local climate is dry, be sure to insert a wooden stick or chopstick taller than the rosemary cutting into the flower pot, then cover with a perforated plastic bag, and make sure the plastic bag does not touch the cutting.
