Roses are delicate and graceful, beyond the reach of the proud peony, the aloof narcissus, or the flamboyant rose. She buds in summer and blooms quietly, and is crowned the "Queen of Flowers" by people, while some also call her the perpetual flower. No matter what she is called, she always wins the favor of the vast number of flower lovers.

1. Use mineral water as the medium for water cuttings, because mineral water is relatively pure. If tap water or cooled boiled water is used as the medium for water cuttings, it is easy for moss and other substances to grow, thus affecting water quality.

2. Cut off the advertising plastic film stuck on the outer wall of the mineral water bottle. This can increase the light-receiving area and allow more sunlight to reach inside the bottle to a greater extent, which is very beneficial for promoting branch growth.

3. For rose branches used in water cuttings, the principle of a moderate length should be followed when choosing the length; it is advisable to cut 5-8 cm.

4. Adjust the position of the mineral water bottle appropriately, preferably so that the leaves inside the bottle face the direction of the light.

5. It is advisable to keep the depth of the mineral water in the bottle at about 1 cm. On the premise of ensuring that the water level does not completely submerge the base of the cutting, the shallower the water, the better. This is because the shallower the water, the relatively higher the average dissolved oxygen content in the water, which is more conducive to the cutting taking root and sprouting.

6. The temperature of the water medium must be well controlled. In the hot midsummer, it is recommended to place it on a south-facing windowsill in an air-conditioned room to receive diffused light; in spring and autumn, the bottom of the mineral water bottle should be properly shaded.

7. As for the leaves on the cuttings, if they can all be stuffed into the mineral water bottle, it is recommended to keep them all and not prune any leaves.

8. In order to achieve the ventilation effect of exchanging air, the bottle must not be capped throughout the entire process of rose water cutting cultivation. This is because plants also need to breathe, and through air exchange, fresh air can also be maintained inside the bottle.

9. After the rose cuttings in the bottle have developed a large number of roots and grown new buds and new leaves, we can transplant them into pots at the appropriate time. When converting from water cuttings to soil cultivation, it is recommended to use plain soil as the growing medium. This is because such plain soil is relatively clean and not prone to breeding various molds, thus creating conditions to ensure that the plant quickly returns to normal growth in the soil.

Using the above method of rose water cuttings has both advantages and disadvantages:

The advantages are:

1. Convenient management; there is no need to change the water, so the manager does not need to worry too much.

2. Using mineral water bottles for water cuttings keeps them relatively independent from each other, which plays a role in isolating pests and diseases.

3. The humidity inside the mineral water bottle is relatively high, so there is no need to consider the factor of a large amount of water evaporating due to too many leaves; therefore, as many leaves as possible can be retained.

The disadvantages are:

This method is suitable for household potted planting and is not suitable for large-scale seedling propagation. If a large number of propagated seedlings are needed, they can only be obtained through other methods.
