Pothos is a houseplant that many families love to grow. It not only decorates the environment but can also absorb large amounts of harmful substances from the air. Recently, the pothos at home has grown very long again. To keep it from trailing lower and affecting its looks, we can try dividing it and repotting it. The specific steps are illustrated below:

1. Cut some overly long, healthy stems from the mother pothos plant, as shown below.

2. From the cut stems, select the leaves and stems that have aerial roots and set them aside for later use; the others without aerial roots can be discarded.

3. Prepare a container and insert these stems with aerial roots into it.

4. After inserting them, take a look at the result in the picture below.

5. Slightly tie the bundles of pothos stems and leaves inserted in the container so that potting soil can be added later.

6. Expanded clay pebbles can be used as the potting medium. First lift up the pothos bundle, then lay a layer of expanded clay pebbles at the bottom of the container.

7. Then place the pothos bundle on the laid expanded clay pebbles, hold the pothos bundle with one hand, and continue adding expanded clay pebbles with the other hand, keeping the height even all around.

8. Keep adding expanded clay pebbles while turning the container in circles until the expanded clay pebbles fill the container, and remove the tying string at the same time.

9. After about 1 month, the newly propagated pothos bundle will take root. When repotting, you will find that the roots are all intertwined with each other. When repotting, simply replace the expanded clay pebbles with potting soil.
