How do you plant Lantana camara seeds? All the planting methods are right here
Lantana camara, just from the name you can tell that this plant must bloom with brilliant colors and rich hues. And that is indeed the case; lantana flowers are generally made up of a combination of multiple colors, so they are very bright and vivid. Because the flowering period of lantana is very long, if it is grown as a household potted plant, as long as the management measures are in place, it can be made to bloom all year round, so it is very popular among plant enthusiasts.

Lantana camara can be propagated by cuttings, layering, or even sowing. In the previous two articles, the editor already explained the cutting propagation method for lantana, and it was a method using softwood and hardwood cuttings separately for propagation, so the editor will not repeat it here. Today, the editor will share with you the method for how to plant lantana camara seeds.
Sowing lantana camara is generally carried out in autumn, after the mature seeds have been harvested, and the outer skin and flesh of the fruit are rubbed off before sowing. However, if the current temperature cannot be maintained at around 20°C, it is not recommended to sow. If the temperature is too high or too low, you can store the seeds in sand and wait until the following spring to carry out sowing propagation.
If the seeds are prepared and the current temperature can also be kept at around 20°C, then sowing at this temperature can promote normal germination of the seeds. For lantana sown in spring, it generally blooms in September of the same year; if lantana is sown in autumn, it will only bloom the following year.
Although lantana camara can be sown in spring and autumn, it is mainly determined by the ambient temperature. No matter at which time point you sow, you should rub and wash off the outer skin and flesh of the seeds in advance, so that the seeds obtained are cleaner and more conducive to germination. As long as the growth temperature after sowing, especially the temperature during germination, is maintained at around 20°C, the germination rate can often reach 60%.
In autumn, the temperature in the north is clearly lower than around 20°C, so it is not suitable for sowing, and therefore the seeds need to be stored in sand; while whether in spring or autumn, the temperature in the south is relatively close to around 20°C, which is very suitable for sowing lantana camara. Seedlings sown in the south can bloom in the same year.
