How to plant cyclamen seeds? Detailed sowing methods and steps
Cyclamen can be propagated by sowing seeds and dividing tubers, but sowing propagation is mostly done in autumn. This is because sowing too early will affect seed germination, and the tuber will start flowering before it has grown strong enough, so the flowering quality will naturally be very low; if sowing is too late, germination will be affected by excessively low temperatures. Cyclamen seeds are relatively large, and under normal conditions they do not germinate easily, so it is recommended to soak and pre-sprout the seeds before sowing.

When autumn arrives and the temperature is between 15°C and 18°C, it is the most suitable time to sow. Before sowing, it is recommended to soak the seeds in warm water at about 25°C for 1 day, then carry out disinfection and sterilization treatment. Next is pre-sprouting. First cover the seeds with two layers of paper towels, then cover and seal them to promote sprouting, changing the water once a day; after 3-6 days they can be sown. Before sowing, the soil needs to be disinfected. After placing the seeds, cover them with about 0.5 cm of soil, and finally cover them with a layer of black film to block light.
Choose a suitable growing medium and put it into a container. Then poke some holes in the growing medium, and place the pre-sprouted seeds one by one into the holes. Note that the holes should not be too deep; a depth of about 1-2 cm is suitable. Then cover with a thin layer of soil, and keep the potting soil moist during this period.
The seeds can grow normally in a growing environment of 15°C-20°C. Just after emergence, they should be given diffused light, and then the light should be gradually increased. It should be noted that if no light is provided after emergence, the seedlings will become leggy.
If the seedlings grow normally, true leaves will soon appear. Because cyclamen seeds grow more slowly compared with the seeds of other plants, everyone needs to be patient. After the seedlings grow 4-5 leaves, we can consider repotting the seedlings, which can speed up the growth of the young cyclamen plants.
