Building a Lingnan bonsai information interactive platform to inherit culture
Riding on the momentum of the Ancient Town Lighting Culture Festival, the 2015 First China Lighting Capital Miniature Bonsai Exhibition and Bonsai Charity Auction kicked off. Hosted by Zhongshan Huamu City Landscape Co., Ltd., and co-organized by the Ancient Town Flower and Nursery Stock Association, Yun Master Brand Strategy Agency, and Guangdong Xiaoyazhai Auction Co., Ltd., it was successfully held with the support of the Zhongshan Ancient Town Agriculture Bureau, Zhongshan Nanfang Green Expo Park, Zhongshan Ancient Town Charity Association, and bonsai associations from various cities across Guangdong Province.
The Party Secretary of Zhongshan Ancient Town, the President of the Guangdong Bonsai Association, the Chairman of Zhongshan Huamu City, the President of the Ancient Town Charity Association, as well as heads of related units from various industries and some bonsai enthusiasts attended the charity auction event. This bonsai auction featured a total of 220 works, of which 20 pots donated by bonsai enthusiasts raised charitable funds that will all be donated to the Ancient Town Charity Association for unified arrangement.
This auction invited Mr. Liu Chuangang, a Chinese bonsai art master and BCI international bonsai master, as the auctioneer for the first charity auction. The first auction piece was "Bolan" under the guidance of Master Lu Jingqiang from Zhongshan Mu City. Starting at 1 yuan, the bidding voices of "scrambling to be first" rose one after another, and it was finally sold at a price of 1300 yuan. In the subsequent auction activities, the transaction prices of each lot repeatedly hit new highs, and the enthusiasm of love surged wave after wave. Guests who did not win any items did not hesitate to give their applause and cheers, offering praise to the guests who won the bids. At the auction site, the atmosphere was warm, and caring people enthusiastically raised their paddles, competing to contribute love. This charity auction raised a total of 42000 yuan, which will be allocated to the Ancient Town Charity Association for unified use.
Of the 220 pots of works in this auction event, 112 pots were finally sold, with a transaction rate of 51%, and a total transaction amount of 630,900 yuan (among the 20 charity small and medium bonsai, 18 pots were successfully auctioned, totaling 42600 yuan). After the auction ended, the exhibition period continued until October 27, with a total of 4 days of exhibition time. During the exhibition, more than 100 people inquired about prices, nearly 40 people made purchases, and the total transaction amount was 402,000 yuan.
In addition to the bonsai exhibition and auction, this event also included parent-child exchange activities at kindergartens, on-site bonsai culture experience activities for primary school students, and bonsai sketching interactive activities for students from Ancient Town Junior High School and Caosan Primary School (personally taught by Mr. Xu Weihua, Executive Director of the China Bonsai Artists Association). The activities hoped to actively cultivate and involve young people at different age stages in the inheritance and development of bonsai culture.
After this event concludes, follow-up cooperation with "China Flowers & Bonsai" magazine will be carried out regarding the operation of the bonsai platform, and the event theme "Inherit Lingnan Bonsai Culture, Build an Information Interactive Platform" will be realized. May Chinese bonsai continue to shine on this land of Ancient Town, laying the foundation for the future China Lighting Capital Bonsai Trading Center in Ancient Town.
