A Detailed Explanation of Methods for Conceiving the Artistic Concept in Landscape Bonsai Creation

Landscape bonsai is a group of scenery displayed by mountains, stones, grass, and trees arranged and combined in a certain way within a pot. This kind of combination follows a certain law of mountain momentum or structural composition. The creator's conception, or the construction of a thought-provoking artistic conception, is precisely a very important part of bonsai creation.

Conceiving the artistic concept is an important part of bonsai creation. In practice, conceiving the artistic concept of a bonsai is a process of determining an artistic conception and then conceiving and expressing this artistic conception. Generally speaking, there are two ways of expression:

  1. First conceive the artistic concept, and according to this concept, through planning, select appropriate materials such as trees, stones, mountains, and grass, and arrange and combine them within the pot space to accomplish this concept.

  2. Based on the shape characteristics of specific mountains, grass, trees, and stones, generate a certain artistic concept, then plan and use the shape characteristics of these mountains, stones, grass, and trees to arrange and combine them to accomplish the formation of a certain landscape and artistic conception. Because the formation of a bonsai landscape is limited by the tangible materials, this method of conceiving the artistic concept is a way of combining conception with production that is commonly used in the shaping of rock and various combination-type bonsai.

Because landscape bonsai is the arrangement and combination of mountains, stones, grass, and trees within the pot space, this kind of combination follows a certain law of mountain momentum or structural composition.
