A wall-mounted landscape bonsai generally uses a marble slab or porcelain plate as the backing board (the backing board may have a frame or be frameless), with carefully selected and processed rocks pasted onto the board surface to create a poetic and picturesque landscape scene. The rocks commonly used include Yingde stone, sandy accumulative stone, stalactite stone, etc., with those having natural, beautiful forms being preferred (soft stone materials can be carved and chiseled into the required forms).
Preparation of the container: Depending on your own conditions, you may choose a white marble container, a polished white marble board, a marble container (board), a plastic board, a specially made wooden board, a glass picture frame, etc. Then, according to the container material and creative intention, drill holes in the back of the container and install fixing hooks, so that after completion it can be hung on the wall as decoration. If it is a white marble or marble container (board), you can use a pistol-type tungsten steel drill to make holes in the back of the container (the holes do not go through, with a small opening and a larger interior), and bend copper wire (iron wire easily rusts) into hooks of appropriate size, then use a high-strength adhesive, such as No. 307 Type 1 unsaturated polyester resin, all-purpose glue, etc., mixed with cement adhesive, to bond and fill. The conception of the creation: Different themes can be chosen according to the conditions of the container and other materials. According to the different themes, decide how to arrange the rocks and plants on the container, how to paint a landscape painting that harmonizes with the rocks and plants and has a certain poetic quality, and how to inscribe characters and seals. Select stone materials that can express the theme, such as Yingde stone, axe-cut stone, etc. If soft stones are used, such as sea mother stone or pumice, they should be carved and processed according to the theme.
Gluing and pasting of the rocks: According to the conception, use cement mixed with a high-grade adhesive (as above) (its color should be adjusted to be similar to the stone color) to glue and paste the rocks onto the appropriate parts of the container. Plants can be planted in the hollows on the side of the stone material near the container, or planted behind the container. If planted behind the container, holes in square, trapezoidal, or circular shapes must first be drilled in the appropriate parts of the container, and planting vessels placed behind the container, such as small tile pots split equally along the central axis, planting holes made of foam plastic, etc.
Planting of plants, painting of distant scenery, inscription and seals: According to the conception and the size of the planting holes, select plants of different postures, different sizes, and different types, and carefully plant them in the planting holes. Then paint and arrange the background scenery and distant scenery, such as mountains, water, forests, birds, figures, boats, etc., and inscribe words and seals in appropriate places. In this way, a rippling scene, or the rustic charm of mountain forests, or layered peaks and ridges, or a hundred-zhang flying waterfall, or sails on rivers and seas, and other natural landscapes appear before your eyes.
