How to use carbendazim for disease prevention in edible fungi

1. Carbendazim has a relatively poor control effect on Mucor and Rhizopus. When applying carbendazim, the pH value of the culture material should be appropriately increased to inhibit the growth of Mucor and Rhizopus. Since carbendazim is resistant to high temperatures, it is best to subject the culture material to high-temperature sterilization during application in order to kill molds.

2. When mixing carbendazim into the material, the concentration of the medicinal solution must be strictly controlled. The carbendazim used in production is generally a 50% powder, and the appropriate dosage is 0.1% of the dry material weight. If the dosage is increased, it will affect the growth of the mycelium. When mixing the material, first dissolve the agent in a sufficient amount of water and stir thoroughly and evenly, then mix it into the material, so as to avoid spot and patch contamination.

3. Carbendazim easily decomposes and loses effectiveness in an alkaline environment, so lime must not be applied at the same time when mixing the material. In addition, attention should also be paid to alternating its application with other fungicides.
