Identification of edible mushroom diseases and methods for strain preservation

How are edible mushroom strains preserved?

Two methods are usually adopted for preservation: the slanted low-temperature preservation method. This is the simplest preservation method, that is, placing vigorously growing, uncontaminated slanted test tubes into a refrigerator, at

a low temperature of 4°C to 6°C for preservation, after which they are transferred every 2 to 3 months onto fresh slanted culture medium, and after culturing they continue to be preserved. The other is the liquid paraffin preservation method. In this method, in the slanted test tubes to be preserved, sterilized liquid paraffin is injected inside a sterile room, and the injected paraffin should preferably be 1 cm above the slant. Then plug with a wooden stopper or rubber stopper, seal the opening with wax, and place upright in a dry place indoors, where it can be preserved for more than one year.
