The "Four Kills" Pest Control for Edible Mushrooms

For indoor edible mushroom cultivation, windows, doors, ventilation holes, etc. should be covered with 60-mesh fine gauze netting to prevent adult mushroom flies, mushroom gnats and other pests from entering the room and causing damage. Adopting the four-kill approach can effectively control edible mushroom pests.

Trapping and killing adults. Adult mushroom flies, mushroom gnats and other adults are phototactic, so black light lamps or fluorescent lamps can be set up, with sticky boards hung around the lamps or a dichlorvos solution medicine box placed under the lamp, so that the adults contact the pesticide and are poisoned.

Chemical fumigation killing. Under sealed conditions, fumigate with 2-3 tablets of aluminum phosphide per cubic meter of space to eliminate indoor pest sources.

Spraying pesticide to kill insects. When pests are found before mushroom fruiting, spray the bed surface with 500-times trichlorfon solution or 1000-times decis solution to kill the insects.

Substrate treatment to kill insects. For every 50 kg of culture substrate, use 15 ml of dicofol, dilute with 10 kg of water, and spray evenly onto the substrate, mixing the substrate while spraying; after spraying, pile it up for 3 days to eliminate pest sources in the substrate, or mix into the culture substrate a 500-times solution of 40% phoxim or a 1000-times solution of 2.5% decis, both of which have very good insect-killing effects.
