Greenhouse cultivation of edible fungi uses program-controlled micro-sprinkler technology

The cultivation of straw mushrooms (Volvariella volvacea) among edible fungi has significant economic benefits and is an advantageous project for developing under-forest economies. Many farmers choose to cultivate edible fungi on a large scale in multi-span greenhouses, equipped with "program-controlled micro-sprinkler" technology, which not only saves water but also ensures smooth cooling in summer. Moreover, the "program-controlled micro-sprinkler" technology has low equipment investment costs and is suitable for growers to adopt.

The program-controlled micro-sprinkler equipment consists of a 58-group program switch, which can be freely adjusted to control the water pump supply, enabling the nozzles to produce a misting effect and automatically spray the mushrooms at set times and quantities. The program-controlled micro-sprinkler system consists of a submersible pump, program controller, main water pipe, branch water pipes, nozzles, tee adapters, elbow adapters, plastic ball valves, and a 200V power supply. The working time and working frequency of the submersible pump can be freely adjusted within 24 hours to carry out spraying in the mushroom shed.

Simply put, the program-controlled micro-sprinkler technology involves burying a 3-cubic-meter water storage tank at a depth of about three meters below the ground, connecting the water inlet and outlet, and linking the water outlet to the nozzles installed at the top of the greenhouse. In summer, through water circulation, on the one hand the water storage tank is used to lower the ground temperature, and on the other hand the fine mist droplets sprayed from the roof through the nozzles can also cool things down.

When summer temperatures are high, the spraying frequency can be increased, combined with large fans to regulate the humidity in the shed, and an automatic micro-sprinkler system for straw mushrooms can be used for cooling. The price is low, but summer is not suitable for growing button mushrooms (Agaricus bisporus); instead, it is suitable for growing straw mushrooms, wood ear mushrooms (Auricularia auricula-judae), reishi mushrooms (Ganoderma lucidum), and others.
