Among the ways of growing pothos, hydroponic growing is easier to handle than soil growing, and it also has higher ornamental value. So, in daily care, can hydroponic pothos roots be trimmed? Let's take a look below!

The roots of pothos need to be cleaned at intervals. After the root system grows long, the roots need to be trimmed. If there are rotten roots, cut them off so that the pothos can absorb nutrients better.

The root system should be cleaned and trimmed regularly. If the roots are too long, they should be cut shorter in time; if root rot is found, the rotten roots should be cut off after cleaning, and the plant should be soaked in potassium permanganate solution for care.

Growing pothos makes full use of space and purifies the air. Under high-temperature and high-humidity conditions in summer, pothos is not afraid of heat, and the higher the humidity, the more luxuriant its growth. Root rot in pothos is the most troublesome problem, so today let's take a look at how we should prevent it in daily life.

The cause of root rot is generally that the roots die from lack of oxygen, so paying attention to the following points can prevent it.

First, change the water often. If the water is not changed for a long time, the oxygen in the water is used up, and the roots rot easily.

Second, pay attention to the water level. It is enough for the water surface to just cover the highest point of the roots; part of the roots can even be slightly exposed above the water surface. If it is too deep, part of the stem is buried underwater, and lack of oxygen makes it easy for rot to start there.

Third, choose a wide-mouthed open bottle to increase the area of contact with air and make it easy for oxygen in the air to dissolve into the water; or place it in a ventilated spot, for the same purpose; if you only have a narrow-mouthed bottle, that is fine too, as long as you follow the first point and change the water often.

At the beginning of hydroponic growing, change the clean water once every 2 to 3 days, and water roots can grow in about a week. Only when the plant shows strong growth can it be grown with foliage plant nutrient solution.

For pothos just placed in water, it is best to change the sun-exposed water every day. Do not add anything. After a month, it will take root.
