String of Coins is an excellent indoor foliage plant, suitable for hanging cultivation on balconies, windowsills and similar spots. So how can you grow String of Coins well?

Here are the care key points for potted String of Coins:

  1. Propagation: During spring and summer, take cuttings of String of Coins with 3~4 nodes per section, disinfect them and let them dry in the shade, then insert them diagonally into pure vermiculite or pure river sand; they will root in about 1 week. If the indoor temperature stays around 20°C all year, you can take cuttings throughout the year.

  2. Soil: The growing medium generally uses materials with good aeration; you can mix tree fern fiber with an appropriate amount of perlite to make a nutrient soil.

  3. Light: String of Coins likes a semi-shaded growing environment; usually just place it indoors in bright light, and in summer especially be careful to provide shade.

  4. Temperature: Button Orchid likes a high-temperature environment; the suitable growing temperature is 23~32°C, and the winter temperature must not be lower than 10°C~

  5. Watering: Although String of Coins likes moisture, it is very afraid of waterlogging. Usually you can water by the "see dry, see wet" method, and you can mist its leaves and the surrounding area every day to increase air humidity. Follow the principle of watering thoroughly only after the soil has dried out.

  6. Fertilizing: Its fertilizer requirement is not large; apply a dilute liquid fertilizer once a month, and the concentration must not be too high, otherwise fertilizer burn is likely to occur.

String of Coins can not only be grown in pots, but can also be used to climb walls or trees. When it fills out, it looks like strings of gold coins, carrying the meaning of wealth rolling in. Do you like this kind of String of Coins?
