Orchid blooms are elegant yet still captivating, and with their lush, emerald-green leaves, they have very high ornamental value as potted plants. But many gardening friends encounter the phenomenon of stunted growth and failure to bloom when growing orchids in pots. So what should you do when an orchid is stunted and won't bloom?

When an orchid shows no growth for a long time or grows too slowly, and does not sprout or bloom, it may have become stunted. The main causes of stunted orchids are that the orchid has not yet adapted to the potting soil environment, the ambient temperature is too low, poor nutrition, and many other factors.

If the orchid was only recently potted, the plant is often still in the process of settling in and is in its adaptation period, needing time to get used to the new potting soil environment, so the phenomenon of not growing and not blooming is normal. So there is no need to worry. Today, the editor will share with you two techniques to promote orchid growth and encourage blooming.

1. Watering with willow bark soak

Willow bark is rich in salicylic acid, and this substance has a very good regulating and promoting effect on plant growth. We can wash willow bark and willow branches clean, cut them into small pieces and put them in a bucket filled with water to soak. When watering the orchid as usual, we use the soaked solution instead of plain water to water the orchid, which can do a good job of promoting orchid growth.

2. Watering with aspirin dissolved in water

And if aspirin is ground into powder, dissolved in water and then used to water the orchid, it can usually also achieve the goal of promoting plant growth. Because the main ingredient of aspirin is acetylsalicylic acid, and this substance can also stimulate plant growth. You can take 1 aspirin tablet and dissolve it in 1000 ml of water. After the tablet has completely dissolved, shake the mixed liquid well and use it to water the orchid. Before long, we will find that the plant grows more robustly.
